Vinyl wrap Finishes

Firstly, The question to end up here, what is Vinyl wrap and why would I be going for it ?

So to start off with, Vinyl Wrap is not the same old (Mostly Peach coloured) material which is peeling away at the edges in 20-30 year old kitchens. The new Material is much thinner without giving up any noticeable Durability.

How it’s made

These days it’s made inside a vacuum chamber with far better Adhesives able to withstand higher temps. We could get technical here, but there is no benefit(feel free to ask me about it though!)

Benefits

-As it’s a ‘wrap’ it can wrap around profiles

-It doesn’t require the 1mm edge tape to be applied like Melamines or laminates which can be a preference for some consumers

-The sample you see from the supplier is what you get, where as 2pack can still have human error and imperfections

-Edges don’t chip like 2pack painted edges can

What you can’t do

-You are limited to the colour offerings by the the manufacturers, unlike 2pack which you can select your colour from the dulux range

-On extra curvy profiles on things like leg posts and fireplace mantles you will need to go for 2Pack

My opinion

I would personally be going for Vinyl wrap in profile doors when possible. If you have found a colour you like in the range this is your got to, Otherwise it’s time to check out 2pack colours from dulux and head in that direction

I’ve got some pictures of the vinyl wrap edge below to show how it’s wraps around the doors
