Most powerful Induction cooktops in popular sizes
Here’s a list of the most powerful individual burners in each category and also some questions which I think are just as important when shopping for a cooktop
When comparing heat up times for induction cooktops it’s nice and simple. The larger the KW number = The quicker it will heat up. Most brands stop at 3.7kw as a boost function, it does the job more than most people ever need. It will heat a 3 litre pot of water in about 3 mins. So super quick! But if you are looking at the quickest heat up times this list is what you’re after.
Below is broken into the most popular sizes and burners configs which are 60cm 3 burner, 60cm 4 burner, 90cm 5 burner, 90cm 6 burner and the new trend of free zone inductions
60cm 4 burner
Winner is Bosch PXE651FC1E
Bosch’s PXE651FC1E has up to 2.2KW within the normal levels and a 3.7kw boost. There are more than a few brands which have 3.7kw boosts on their 4 burners, but this has the highest normal level setting at 2.2KW
60cm 3 burner
Winner is F & P CI603DTB4 & Miele KM 7200 FR
2 winners
-Miele’s KM7200FR On the 28cm burner (which will fit 30cm frypans) its normal control levels are up to 2.6kw, but the boost being 5.5kw is impressive
-F & P’s CI603DTB4 on the 27cm burner (which will fit your 30cm fry pan) it has up to 2.6kW normal cooking levels and 5.5kw boost on large burner.
90cm 5 burner
Winner F & P CI905DTB4
The CI905DTB4 From F & P which lands them another win. The same burner used on the 60cm cooktop which is 2.6kw normal and 5.5kw boost. It’s strange that Miele don’t use the same strong burner on their 90cm cooktop
-Possible winner is the Asko HI1975G or HI1994M It has a 5.5kw boost, but no mention of normal control level high
90cm 6 burner
Winner is Asko HI1995G
HI1995G From asko has a 2.3kw high level and 3.7kw boost function. It also has some awesome cooking functions to control temp of the pot
80-100cm Free Zone Induction
I need to put a disclaimer on this category and explain why this category is so hard to compare as a customer. This category is made up of brands which have as little as 6 burners and as many as 48, so there is massive differences and limitations dependable on how they were made. These will impact
-How “free” you are to place your pots anywhere
-How much of the “free zone” has cold spots which are very noticable on cooking anything under 5 mins
-How your boost performance works. Your boost performance might even change dependable on exactly where you place your pots
With all of that said. For the purpose of power the winner is
Gaggenau CX492101
With A boost up to 5.5kw for a large individual pot, it is the clear winner with the next closest getting up to 3.7kw boost in Smeg SIA1963D and F & P CI926DTB4
